East Devon 1's started the season with 3 points in a really exciting 4-2 win against a strong Exeter University side. East started the game with a solid defensive display and took the lead against the run of play with Rory Bland who smashed the ball into the top corner, a big finish from a little man. 2 mistakes allowed Exeter Uni to take the lead and make it 2-1 at half time. An inspirational team talk at half time kick started a revival first through James Marriott and then debutant Davey Thomas grabbed his first goal on his return to the club. To finish off the win Mr 100% James Rush slotted a penalty flick into the top left corner in front of the travelling fans sending the East Devon faithful into chaotic celebrations |
