Match Report | The East Devon 1st team headed up to North Devon with just the 11 players available with George Mills and Sam Corney stepping up from the 2nd team. The first 10/15 minutes was very competitive with both teams creating chances for the forwards and some very good passing between the players. Then with only 15 minutes played the captain Jamie White went out wide to make a tackle and unfortunately took a hit to the inside of the knee with the opposing players stick which meant he was unable to continue playing which meant East Devon now had to carry on the game with only 10 players. With the extra space that the extra player created this gave North Devon the time/space they needed to show the good passing/finishing that they are capable off which showed at half time with a 3-0 lead. Part way through the 2nd half George Clifford took a knock to the leg which meant he had to come off for a bit which meant East Devon had only 9 players for around 10 mins of the 2nd half. Even though the game was effectively over every player for East Devon put in 110% effort with the work rate of the players not dropping from the 1st minute to the last. Overall, a dissapointing result but an excellent performance and show of character from the players. |
