East Devon 1 Vs ECV Hornets

Another impressive performance from a young and promising East Devon 1st team but unfortunately the result didn't go the way we had hoped.

East Devon found themselves 1-0 down early on but by half time East Devon had taken the lead, going in at half time 2-1 up.

A very good aerial pass from Nick Tancock was taken down by Joe Robson who then played Alex Newman through on goal, who was able to slot the ball past the Hornets goalkeeper just before half time.

The 2nd goal came from an East Devon short corner which Hornets failed to clear and the rebounded shot was put away by Mike Vallance from close range.

Unfortunately for East Devon they started the 2nd half slowly and conceded 2 sloppy goals within the space of 5 minutes which put them behind.

A high press from Hornets meant that East Devon struggled to get their passing game going in the 2nd half and although East Devon had the ball in the back of the Hornets net again, it was ruled out for an unfortunate foot and the free hit was given to Hornets.

Overall, a very impressive performance with a lot of good attack play from East Devon but on the day just couldn't get the result.
